Opeth has been a long favorite metal band of mine. In fact, it was the first "death metal" band I was ever introduced to, and what set the stage for a decade of metal-mania that ended up in a full circle with Opeth.
In 2002, when I was in 12th grade, I was given Opeth's first CD, Orchid. The very first song was called "In the Mist She Was Standing". I didn't know what to make of the song at first. the guttural and almost incoherent death metal growl-voice was hard to understand, but as the song transitioned to some of the most amazing works of musicianship in the metal world I started seeing something I have never to this day have seen befor
